New Star Jalsha show Balijhor's twisting plot of love and politics

The new Star Jalsha show Balijhor tells the story of Jhora, Srot and Maharghya who find themselves tangled in a storm of political powerplay. Jhora is played by Trina Saha, Maharghya by Koushik Roy, Srot by Indrasish Roy and Somudra Sen by Bharat Kaul. This show is produced under the banner of Magic Moments, which has gifted viewers of Bengal many iconic stories of love, courage and resilience, like Ishtikutum, Kusumdola, Ichhenodee, Sreemoyee, Dhulokona, Khorkuto, and Mohor. Leena Gangopadhyay is the writer, creative director and producer while Saibal Banerjee is the director and producer of Balijhor.

The show follows Somudra Sen, who is a rich, prominent, and power-hungry politician who looks upon Jhora, his only daughter, to take over his position in future and continue his legacy. Maharghya is a fearless, intelligent and powerful strategist who has made significant contributions towards the political success of Somudra Sen. Somudra Sen wants his daughter to get married to Maharghya to strengthen his legacy. Jhora, a happy-go-lucky girl, is madly in love with Srot, who hails from a humble middleclass background. Her life turns upside down when Somudra Sen declares to the world her marriage with Maharghya. What will Jhora do? Will she be able to leave her enormous political lineage and an already shining career in politics to follow her heart? Or will she sacrifice her love? Jhora stands at the crossroads, as the sandstorm is about to hit her life and take away all she has.

Balijhor will air from February 6, Monday to Sunday at 6pm only on Star Jalsha.
