It’s been a pretty long wait for Season 2 of Masaba Masaba and it does not disappoint. The new season that dropped on Netflix on July 29 takes fashion designer Masaba Gupta’s life story forward, weaving in some new characters and a bouquet of cameos.

While Masaba’s journey as a designer and individual remains the focal point of the show, here are the cameos that take Season 2 a few notches higher.

Kartik Aaryan (Episode 1)

The first episode kicks off with a hilarious cameo by Bollywood’s newest box-office darling, Kartik Aaryan, who brings on his trademark goofy vibe. Kartik plays a doctor in a dream sequence which has Masaba in the throes of labour pain while her mother Neena Gupta is drooling over his “hot” looks. The dream sequence ties in with the main plot line of Season 2 and makes for a fun start.

Bappi Lahiri (Episode 3)

The cameo by Bappi Lahiri, who plays himself in a short scene, is extra special for the fact that this is his last appearance on screen, and that too after a long time.

You find Bappida seated on a throne-like chair, surrounded by disco balls and gold decorations, as he greets Neena who’s meeting with him to discuss the music for her TV show. Channelling his signature ‘king of bling’ style, the star music composer and singer is adorned in layers of gold necklaces, lots of gold rings and bracelets and blue aviators (instead of the black ones we knew him for).

Milind Soman (Episode 4)

Who knew Milind Soman could be as funny as he’s hot! The 56-year-old actor-model, who is still considered one of the sexiest men in India, turns on his salt-and-pepper charm and then kills it as a foppish fashion reality show judge.

Flanked by Masaba and Kareema Barry’s Qayanaat on either side, Milind is delightful to watch as he rubs glycerine in his eyes to shed some tears when the show participants get emotional while sharing their personal stories.

Neelam Kothari Soni (Episode 1)

Neelam’s cameo gets overshadowed by Kartik Aryan’s antics in the first episode, but the scene that has her showering expletives on a phone call after being accused of being too prim-and-propah to use such language is comical.

The fact that Neelam has already made a comeback with another Netflix reality show, Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, definitely adds to her star power.

Kanwaljit Singh (Episode 2)

This season of Masaba Masaba is also a lot about Neena Gupta navigating her acting career, and there’s a strong reference to her hit 1998 TV show Saans (1998), which she wrote, directed and starred in opposite Kanwaljit Singh.

In a short scene, Kanwaljit is seen chilling in Mexico when Neena calls him to discuss an old TV show she wants to revive, and the off-screen rapport that the two veteran actors shared in their heydays is visible.

Sakshi Sindwani (Episode 7)

Social media influencer Sakshi Sindwani makes a fleeing appearance in the last episode, walking down the ramp as the showstopper for Masaba’s new collection that focuses on body positivity. But even in those few moments, Sakshi grabs our attention.

Sir Vivian Richards: The cameo to be?

The string of cameos and a twist at the end of Season 2 have raised our hopes for an appearance by cricket legend and Masaba’s dad Viv Richards.

Towards the end of Season 2, Masaba sends out an invite to her father and we are left expecting a cameo. He does not show up eventually, but Masaba gets a call from him, out of the blue, which makes us hopeful of his appearance in Season 3.
