The trailer launch event of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s OTT debut Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar saw the show’s star cast putting their best fashion foot forward. Here’s a look at who wore what to the event on Tuesday.
Manisha Koirala, who essays the role of Mallikajaan in the upcoming period drama, attended the event in a black embellished slit kurta. A pearl choker, a messy bun and kohl-rimmed eyes raised the glamour quotient.
Sonakshi Sinha twirled in a pink lehenga embroidered with golden stones and crystals. The actress wore her hair down and opted for soft makeup to balance the look. Sonakshi will play Fareedan in the upcoming period drama.
Aditi Rao Hydari’s Bibbojaan puts her life at stake as she urges her fellow courtesans to rebel against the colonisers in Bhansali’s maiden web series. The 37-year-old actress, who recently got engaged to her Maha Samudram co-star Siddharth, turned heads in a green anarkali at the event. Aditi paired it with a blue dupatta, featuring intricate thread work. Layered danglers, dewy makeup and a black bindi completed her look.
Richa Chadha, who is expecting her first child with husband Ali Fazal, takes on the role of Lajjo in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The actress looked gorgeous in a green-and-pink salwar suit at Tuesday’s trailer launch. Danglers and a pearl passa accentuated her ensemble.
The courtesans of Heeramandi have the nawabs under their thumb. Yet, the situation quickly escalates when Sharmin Segal’s Alamzeb chooses the love of one man over the adoration of many. The actress stole the show in a golden embellished anarkali on Tuesday. Layered earrings and a loose bun complemented her look.
Sanjeeda Sheikh’s pink lehenga with floral motifs, beads and crystals was a winner. The actress paired her outfit with vintage jewellery. A sleek pony kept the look fuss free. Sanjeeda essays the role of Waheeda in the upcoming web series.
Fardeen Khan looked dapper in a black sherwani suit. The actor returns to the screen as Wali Mohammed nearly 14 years after his last release Dulha Mil Gaya in 2010. In Heeramandi, the actor plays Mallikajaan’s archenemy.
Like Fardeen, Adhyayan Suman was nattily dressed in a black sherwani. The actor portrays Zoravar, Lajjo’s (Richa) passionate lover in Heeramandi.
Shekhar Suman sported an ivory sherwani suit. The actor takes on the role of Zulfikar in the upcoming web series.
Taha Shah Badussa looked dashing in a white embroidered sherwani suit bedecked with floral designs and mirror work. Known for his roles in movies like Gippi (2013), Baar Baar Dekho (2016) and Ranchi Diaries (2017), the actor will star as Tajdar in Bhansali’s epic saga of love, power and freedom, slated to premiere on Netflix on May 1.
