Bhansali Productions announced the news on social media with a picture that carries the name of the new film along with the three actors’ signatures at the bottom. “#SanjayLeelaBhansali’s next EPIC saga ‘LOVE & WAR’ starring #RanbirKapoor @aliaabhatt & @vickykaushal09. See you in Cinemas on CHRISTMAS 2025🎬❤️,” the production banner wrote in the caption.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Vicky mentioned that his dream of working with Bhansali has at least come true. “An eternal cinema dream has come true❤️✨,” wrote the 35-year-old actor, who has earned plaudits for his performance in Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur and Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki that also featured Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu.

Ranbir, who is currently basking in the success of Sandeep Reddy Vanga-helmed Animal, made his big screen debut in Bhansali’s 2007 romance musical Saawariya alongside Sonam Kapoor. Love & War marks Ranbir’s second project with the 60-year-old filmmaker in 17 years.

Bhansali had previously cast Alia in his 2022 National Film Award-winning film Gangubai Kathiawadi, where she essayed the role of a young woman trying to rise to power in a male-dominated world after being betrayed and sold off to a brothel.

Apart from dropping the cast of his new film, Bhansali will make his OTT debut with Netflix show Heeraman starring Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha and Sonakshi Sinha. The period drama series, which will follow stories of love and betrayal in pre-Independence India, is slated to arrive on Netflix this year.
