Kajol, Radhika Apte and Konkona Sen Sharama were among a set of Bollywood celebrities who reviewed Aamir Khan Productions’ Laapataa Ladies and heaped praise on the Kiran Rao-helmed film following a special premiere of the film on February 27.

Held at BKC, Mumbai, the premiere saw a star-studded guest list including Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Sunny Deol, Aanand L Rai, Babil Khan, Ali Fazal, Sharman Joshi and Ayan Mukerji. Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan and her husband Nupur Shikhare also attended the event.

Taking to Instagram, Kajol praised the look of the film. “Best of luck @raodyness and #aamirkhan on this super cool looking film!” she wrote in her Instagram stories.

“This film is just so wonderful and heartwarming and honest and funny and sweet and kind. It’s a gem that you mustn’t mustn’t miss,” Radhika Apte also shared in her Instagram stories.

Konkona Sen Sharma shared the film’s poster on social media and had a word of appreciation for the director. “What a wonderful film you have made @raodyness!! So funny and wise and profound – am stunned! Don’t miss this in the theatres people, you’ll love it,” she wrote.

Urging fans to not miss out on the film, Shararat actress Shruti Seth praised the performance of all the actors. She, however, reserved the best compliment for the director. “But the biggest star of this film is the director Kiran Rao. It’s a film that’ll stay with you and keep you smiling long after the show. DO NOT MISS IT,” she concluded her note.

It was not just the stars who were awestruck by the film. Hichki director Siddharth P Malhotra described the film as a gem. “Sometimes you need to get lost to find yourself in more than many ways… This gem of a film story by Biplab Goswami, brilliant screenplay and dialogues by Sneha Desai with additional dialogues by Divyanidhi Sharma says so much in lines and scenes that hit home. Kiran Rao is a master craftsmanship..,” he wrote.

He went on to praise every actor for putting in superlative performances. “Sparsh Shrivastava, Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta and the icing on the cake is Ravi Kishann, he is so so good. The casting by Romil Casting is top class. Many congratulations to Aamir Khan Productions, Jio Studios and Kiran Rao.”

Laapataa Ladies is set to release theatrically on March 1.
