Jailer makers have gifted a BMW X7 car worth over Rs 1.2 crore to actor Rajinikanth following the box office success of the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial, production company Sun Pictures said on Friday, sharing a video of the 72-year-old getting his hands on the mean machine.
“#JailerSuccessCelebrations continue! Superstar @rajinikanth was shown various car models and Mr. Kalanithi Maran presented the key to a brand new BMW X7 which Superstar chose,” the official X handle of Sun Pictures wrote on the microblogging platform.
Sun Pictures CEO Kalanithi had met the Jailer star the day before at his Poes Garden home in Chennai and handed him a cheque and a bouquet.
“Mr. Kalanithi Maran met Superstar @rajinikanth and handed over a cheque, celebrating the historic success of #Jailer,” the production house wrote in another tweet.
Jailer has raked in Rs 325.80 Cr net in India and crossed the Rs 600-crore mark globally since its August 10 release, according to box office figures.
The story of Jailer revolves around Muthuvel Pandian (Rajinikanth), a stern prison warden who discovers a group of criminals scheming to liberate their leader from incarceration. Pandian takes matters in his own hands and attempts to thwart their intentions. The film also features Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia and Vasanth Ravi in key roles.
