Hoichoi announces 10 new shows and 4 fresh seasons to stream from April to September

Joydeep Mukherjee, Debaloy Bhattacharya, Sayantan Ghoshal and Aditi Roy will be directing some of the shows

Hoichoi has unveiled an exciting bouquet of 14 shows to stream from April to September 2024. The lineup boasts of actors such as Ritwick Chakraborty, Saswata Chatterjee, Paoli Dam, Swastika Mukherjee and Tota Roy Choudhury, along with directors like Anam Biswas, Sauvik Kundu and Shihab Shaheen collaborating with Hoichoi for the first time.

“Here’s beginning the Bengali New Year with a blast and some হইচই! Presenting our upcoming content lineup, all the series are coming soon, only on #hoichoi,” the streaming platform wrote on X along with a two-minute-16-second video preview of the content slate.

Among new shows is the Joydeep Mukherjee-helmed series Adv. Achinta Aich, starring Ritwick Chakraborty in the title role alongside Surangana Bandyopadhyay and Saswata Chatterjee.

Parineeta, directed by Aditi Roy and starring Debchandrima Singha Roy and Gaurav Chakrabarty, will be a part of Hoichoi's Best of Bengal segment that reimagines stories from Bengali literature.

Indubala Bhaater Hotel director Debaloy Bhattacharya returns with a new series, Bokabaksho Te Bondi, featuring Solanki Roy as a young actress yearning to break free from the confines of limelight.

Sayantan Ghoshal helms Bijoya, with Swastika Mukherjee in the lead role of a mother whose life is turned upside down after her son tries to kill himself. Shaheb Chatterjee and Debdutta Raha are part of the ensemble cast.

Paoli Dam will play a middle-class woman who faces severe oppression and assault at the hands of her husband in Sauvik Kundu’s Gutipoka.

Fans can also look forward to the continuation of much-loved franchises with sequels such as Nikhoj 2, Noshtoneer 2, Abar Rajneeti and Gobhir Joler Maach 2.

From Bangladesh, Hoichoi presents a diverse range of shows including Rongila Kitab, Jimmi, Golam Mamun, Mitthyabadi and Bohemian Ghora, with themes ranging from crime and justice to desire and marital discord. You can read in details about these shows here:

Reflecting on the announcement, Soumya Mukherjee, chief operating officer of Hoichoi, said: “Our vision is to entertain users in their native language. Despite producing over 140 Bengali shows in collaboration with top creators from India and Bangladesh, and offering a library of over 600 films, our vision remains unwavering as we step into our eighth year.”
