Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 weekend box office collection: The Marvel film earns USD 282 million worldwide

Directed by James Gunn, the third and final instalment in the GOTG trilogy surpasses the opening-weekend collection of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, the latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, registered a solid start at the box office by grossing USD 282 million worldwide in its opening weekend, according to trade reports.

In India, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 earned Rs 18.75 crore nett over the weekend, taking its total collection in three days to Rs 26.25 crore nett. The film managed to beat the opening weekend collection of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (Rs 25.8 crore nett), the other big Marvel release of the year so far.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, and Vin Diesel, the third and final instalment in the GOTG trilogy

raked in USD 17 million from advance ticket sales alone. Making a whopping USD 114 million in the US and Canada, the film earned USD 168 million from the overseas market.

The James Gunn directorial received top box office collections in China (USD 28.1 million), the United Kingdom (USD 14.7 million), South Korea (USD 13.1 million), Mexico (USD 13 million) and France (USD 8.2 million).

While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 surpassed the opening weekend collections of the first GOTG movie (USD 94.2 million) in the US, it failed to beat the earnings of the 2017 hit Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (USD 146.2 million) during the same period.
