Like It's Christmas — The Jonas Brothers

The Jonas Brothers released this song in 2019, making it their fourth Christmas song and the first holiday hit from Nick, Kevin, and Joe in more than a decade. A feel-good song with an easy and lively rhythm, this song is about being so much in love that every day feels like Christmas.

All I Want for Christmas Is You — Mariah Carey

No Christmas is complete without playing this song on the loop. Originally released in 1994, this holiday season favourite is the lead single of Carey’s fourth studio album Merry Christmas. The song talks about being together with one’s true love as the essence of Christmas, instead of celebrating its materialistic aspects. It topped the US Billboard Holiday 100 for several years in a row, helping to earn the singer the moniker Queen of Christmas.

Merry Christmas — Ed Sheeran and Elton John

Embracing the Yuletide spirit of joy and good cheer, this Christmas single released in 2021 was also co-written by the singers. Its heart-warming lyrics have the perfect blend of sweetness and silliness that is so apt for the season. Accompanied by a music video parodying classic Christmas music videos and films, it features a rare, special appearance by Ed’s wife Cherry Seaborn.

Mistletoe — Justin Bieber

This song from Justin Bieber’s first Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe, is a sweet, love ballad. Its lyrics evoke the warmth of family get-togethers and are full of holiday vibes. Reflecting the innocent, boyish charm of the young singer, it’s joyous, festive mood will make you want to get up and dance with your partner.

Christmas Lights — Coldplay

Coldplay embraced the Christmas genre with this 2010 song about a breakup before Christmas. In the song, the lights and decorations of the festive season are compared to symbols of warmth and hope for those feeling left out in the cold during Christmas. Though a melancholy love song, it still manages to channel the magic of Christmas.

How Could This Be Christmas? — Mandy Moore

This wistful number by Mandy Moore is about a woman missing her lover and yearning to be with him for Christmas. Referring to the complex nature of our feelings during the holiday season, it was written during the Covid-19 pandemic and speaks of the challenge of facing loss and attempting to cope with it.

Christmas On The Square — Dolly Parton

All I Want (For Christmas) — Liam Payne

Yet, the broken-hearted singer hangs on to the hope that his split relationship will be mended if it can survive Christmas.

Snowman — Sia

The second single from the Australian singer-songwriter’s first holiday album, Every Day is Christmas (2017), this is a trending number and has recently been branded a modern-day Christmas classic.
