Yami Gautam’s local field agent Zooni Haksar, handpicked by the Prime Minister's office for a mission aimed at revoking Jammu & Kashmir’s special status, encounters terrorism, internal politics and separatist forces in the trailer of Aditya Suhas Jambhale’s upcoming political thriller Article 370, dropped by production house Jio Studios on Thursday.

The trailer shows Yami’s Zooni pitting herself against local politicians as she battles terrorism and economic corruption in the Kashmir Valley. In one of the clips, she orders the arrest of thousands who had dared to act against India. In response, the local politicians resort to extreme measures. Amidst bloodshed and gunfire, Zooni strives to save innocent lives and maintain national unity.

The two-minute-forty-three-second-long trailer also features Priyamani, Arun Govil and Vaibhav Tatwawadi in key roles.

Government of India revoked Article 370 on August 6, 2019. Article 370 had conferred a special status on the state of Jammu and Kashmir, granting it a separate constitution, a state flag, and autonomy of internal administration from November 17, 1952, to October 31, 2019.

Consequently, the move led to a wave of unprecedented violence throughout Jammu and Kashmir. It also resulted in the bifurcation of the former state into two union territories — Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

The upcoming political thriller is jointly produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar, the makers of Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019).

Article 370 is slated to hit theatres on February 23.
