Actor Anil Kapoor has called his wife Sunita Kapoor and himself the leads of the “most epic romance ever imagined” in a heartfelt note he penned to mark their 39th wedding anniversary. .
“Happy 50 years of love to us Sunita! Here's to being the leads in the most epic romance we could have ever imagined... A love story that began 50 years ago and will live on forever,” the 66-year-old wrote alongside a set of old and recent pictures of him and Sunita.
The couple had been dating for 11 years before getting married in 1984, making it 50 years of the two being together.
“I'll never understand how you managed to remain sane through 39 years of marriage and 11 years of dating me! They should write ballads about your patience and devotion! 🤣 And yet, half a decade later, one thing hasn't changed... You still take my breath away everytime you walk into a room! Happy Anniversary to my one and only, now and forever,” Anil’s note further read.
Sunita also took to Instagram to share photos with Anil on their wedding anniversary.

Anil and Sunita’s daughters, Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, posted pictures to wish their parents.
Several celebrities including Karan Johar, Farah Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Bipasha Basu, Bhumi Pednekar, Chunky Panday and Suniel Shetty wished the couple on their anniversary.
“Wow!!! This is so so so lovely and full of love ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” Karan commented under the photos posted by Anil. Farah also wished her ‘favourite’ couple. “Happy anniversary @anilskapoor n @kapoor.sunita my fav couple,” she wrote.
Anil and Sunita got married on May 19, 1984, after 11 years of dating each other. The actor had proposed to Sunita, who used to be a model, after signing the 1985 film Meri Jung. They got married the very next day with 10 people attending the wedding. They are parents to Sonam, Rhea and Harshvarrdhan Kapoor.
