Gen Z celebrities grabbed our eyeballs with stellar performances and quirky fashion trends throughout 2022. Here’re some of our most favoutrite Gen Z celebs and what they did this year.

Rohit Saraf

Known for his charming characters, 26-year-old Rohit Saraf is taking the industry by storm. His portrayal of old-school romantic Rishi Singh Shekhawat in Mismatched Season 2 left us wanting a Dimple-Rishi love story for ourselves. A contrasting Shatak in Vikram Vedha also managed to leave us in awe of Rohit’s acting prowess. The young actor also has a steal-worthy wardrobe with colourful pieces making up a huge chunk.

Janhvi Kapoor

On a mission to prove haters and critics wrong, Janhvi Kapoor has had a whirlwind year. The 25-year-old gave a stellar performance in the Sidharth Sengupta black comedy Good Luck Jerry. A power-packed performance in Mili left us in awe of the actress who reportedly fell sick while shooting in a freezer. The actress also came out with stunning wardrobe pieces, including a blue mermaid style dress that absolutely stole the show.

Millie Bobby Brown

Millie Bobby Brown left us hooting for Eleven in Stranger Things Season 4 while she took on the malicious Vecna. The 18-year-old also came up with perfect comic timing in Enola Holmes 2 as the titular female sleuth who solves a case with her popular detective brother Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill). The talented performer showed off her wardrobe in film promotions, and an outfit that stood out was her black mesh shoulder white satin gown that she wore at the Stranger Things premiere.

Jenna Ortega

There’s a new Wednesday in town and it is Jenna Ortega in her best performance yet. The 20-year-old American actress turned into Tim Burton’s muse for the Netflix horror comedy series Wednesday, which is based on the Addams Family character. Jenna left us cheering for the teen Wednesday as she solved murders and mysteries while juggling school. The cherry on top came with Jenna revealing that the iconic Wednesday dance, which has now gone viral on social media, was choreographed by her. Quite like her character, Jenna too prefers black clothing and went for a bold sheer lace dress for an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Zendaya

While most of Zendaya’s filmography was released the year before, it still didn’t stop the Gen Z actress from making an impact this year. The second season of Euphoria saw Zendaya’s Rue battling with addiction. The 26-year-old also made history this year by becoming the only Black woman to win two Emmy Awards for best actress in a drama series. Zendaya is well known for her high-fashion choices, and her stylist Luxury Law made sure to show off her steal-worthy wardrobe this year as well. The actress not only turned the muse for the Valentino fall collection ‘PP Pink’ but also stole the show with a midriff-baring crop silk shirt and silver skirt at the Oscars 2022.

Babil Khan

Babli Khan, son of Irrfan Khan, had a daunting task ahead of him for his film debut this year. The Gen Z actor left no stones unturned when it came to giving an impactful performance in Qala. While the psychological Netflix thriller was mostly the tale of a mother and a daughter, Jagan’s (Babil) emotional breakdown as he loses his voice gave a glimpse of an actor who has the talent to carry on his father’s legacy. Babli is also a talented singer and has an eye for style. The young actor can be often seen accessorising with numerous rings to make his already stunning outfits stand out.

Sadie Sink

Sadie Sink, who is only 20, gave us goosebumps with her performance as Max Mayfield who stands up to Vecna all by herself. She also made an impact in the Brendan Fraser-starrer The Whale, where she played the estranged teenage daughter to Fraser’s Charlie. The film had its world premiere at the 79th Venice Film Festival and made its way to the Toronto International Film Festival this year. Sadie’s fashion moment of the year came with a powder-blue Alexander McQueen gown that made for a stunning red-carpet appearance at the Venice Film Festival.

Ishaan Khatter

Ishaan Khatter is truly breaking out of his shell this year. The talented actor-dancer made for a hilarious Gullu in the comedy horror Phone Bhoot. While the film was based around the trio of Katrina Kaif, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter, Ishaan stood out with his comic timing and one-liners. The 27-year-old also had a complete wardrobe makeover, diving into colours and prints like never before and won Halloween with his stellar Willy Wonka costume.
