Tovino Thomas-starrer 2018 – Everyone Is A Hero has minted over Rs 200 crore at the worldwide box office — the only Malayalam film to achieve this feat — to emerge as the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time, the makers of the movie have said in a social media post.
Sharing a poster of the film on Instagram, Kavya Film Company wrote, “First Malayalam film to cross Rs 200 cr worldwide business.”
Directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, the Malayalam version of 2018 – Everyone Is A Hero hit theatres on May 5. Buoyed by the success of the film, the makers released the Hindi, Telugu and Tamil dubbed versions on May 26.
2018 – Everyone Is A Hero beat Mohanlal’s 2016 blockbuster Pulimurugan — with a worldwide collection of Rs 137.5 crore — to become the highest-grossing Malayalam movie of all time. The film is based on the 2018 Kerala floods, which wreaked havoc on the state, claiming 489 lives.
Apart from Thomas, 2018 – Everyone Is A Hero also features Indrans, Kunchacko Boban, Aparna Balamurali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Asif Ali, Lal, Narain, Tanvi Ram, Sshivada, Kalaiyarasan, Aju Varghese, Siddique, Joy Mathew and Sudheesh in key roles.
