The video begins with Chopra explaining the basic plot of the movie. “It is a simple story of two people falling in love and parting. The suffering, the agony. It’s a simple film,” he says.

The video also shows archival footage of R.D. Burman composing music for 1942: A Love Story. Chopra shares how a music label refused to buy the music since it was composed by Burman. The video ends with the song Kuch Na Kaho, sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Kumar Sanu.

Set in the pre-independence era, 1942: A Love Story revolves around British colonial employee’s son Naren Singh (Anil Kapoor) who falls in love with Rajjo Pathak (Manisha Koirala), the daughter of a freedom fighter. The movie shows how his feelings for Rajjo turns Naren from an individual with no interest in the independence movement to a patriotic freedom fighter.

Chopra is currently basking in the success of his latest film 12th Fail featuring Vikrant Massey in the lead role.
