The University Grants Commission (UGC) is likely to begin the registration process for the National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024 today i.e. 20 April. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to fill the UGC NET 2024 application form through the official website- ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

UGC chairman recently tweeted on X: “UGC NET June 2024 registration to begin likely by tomorrow.” Candidates will be allowed to make corrections in the details of UGC NET application form 2024 after registration closes.

A total of 9,45,918 candidates registered and 6,95,928 appeared for the UGC NET December 2023 session exam. As per the schedule, the UGC NET December 2023 exam was held between 6 to 14 December and the result was declared on 17 January.

To be eligible, candidates should have scored at least 55 per cent marks in master’s degree. However a relaxation of five per cent is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories. Candidates should have completed their post-graduation from a UGC-recognised college/university in relevant streams. Also candidates appearing in or awaiting results for their final year examination for a master’s degree are also eligible to apply online for the UGC NET exam. However, such candidates are considered eligible only when they pass their master’s exam with the required percentage.
