Oxford University Press India, a department of the prestigious University of Oxford, organised a meet for the school principals and educationists in Kolkata. It is also hosting workshops in English Language Teaching and Inspirational Leadership to build capacity of the Principals and Teachers in the state.

Celebrating its 110 years in India, Oxford University Press (OUP) announced the launch of its new suite of blended learning solutions—OXFORD INSPIRE. Catering to students of grades 1 to 8, Oxford Inspire is India’s first competency based blended learning solution with ‘learner success’ at its core. The solution was launched by Mr. Sumanta Datta, Managing Director, OUP India.

Highlighting the significance of blended learning products for new-age learning, Mr. Sumanta Datta, MD, OUP India said, “Edtech and digital learning have brought a revolutionary change in the education space. OUP has always been the front runner in education and research and recognises the critical role that technology can play in making a breakthrough in the world of knowledge and learning.”

Mr. Datta added, “West Bengal has the reputation for being a strong cultural and educational state. We believe that the students and teachers in the state will appreciate Oxford Inspire's innovative formats to improve conceptual learning and access to quality content. The new blended product supports our intention to meet the ever-changing needs of the students for holistic learning by offering schoolbooks and companion digital solutions such as videos, question banks, quizzes etc. The foundation of Oxford Inspire resonates with the approach recommended by NEP 2020 and focuses on concept-based, cross-disciplinary education, imparted through engaging theme and activity-based blended learning modules.”

At the event, OUP unveiled a new edition of its bestseller series of English books - the New Oxford Modern English. The textbook (first launched in 1987), is currently in its 36th edition. The new revision, completely aligned to the New Education Policy 2020, offers a modernised version of the course while keeping its pedagogical core intact.

OUP also launched a new grammar series - The Grammar Scholar. The books for grades 1 to 8 are designed to teach language in a fun, interactive way. It is aligned to NEP 2020, and the Government’s PARAKH assessment guidelines. This is the first grammar course that offers digital aids integrated with interactive teaching tools and learning materials.
