The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided not to assign overall divisions, distinctions, or aggregates to students taking the class 10 and class 12 exams in 2024. In response to numerous requests, the board clarified that it will not calculate or disclose percentage marks. Notably, candidates with more than five subjects may have the best five subjects determined by admitting institutes or employers recruiting CBSE board students.

Emphasising flexibility, the board stated that institutions or employers can handle percentage calculations if required for higher education or employment. As the 2023-24 academic session unfolds, CBSE-affiliated schools nationwide can expect practical exams, project works, and internal assessments starting from January 1, 2024. The CBSE theory exams are scheduled to commence on February 15, 2024, with the complete date sheet eagerly anticipated.
