QS World University Rankings: IIT Bombay tops Indian colleges, IIM Bangalore Best B-School

Forty-five Indian Institutions have featured in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World Rankings 2024 with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Bombay) topping the list among the Indian institutes.

In the rankings released on Wednesday, IIT Bombay has secured the 149 rank with a score of 51.7. This has been followed by IIT Delhi (197), Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (225), IIT Kharagpur (271), IIT Kanpur (278), IIT Madras (285), IIT Guwahati (364), IIT Roorkee (369), and University of Delhi (407).

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore has on the other hand ranked 48th in the QS World University Rankings 2024 for Global MBA and Business Masters. The IIM Bangalore has improved its ranking from 50th last year to 48th in 2024. IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta have on the other hand been ranked in the 53rd and 59th position.

The 20th edition of QS World University Rankings included 1,500 institutions across 104 locations which were judged on nine aspects including employer reputation, academic reputation, citation per faculty, international faculty ratio, international student ratio, international research network among others.

The Indian Institute of Science Bangalore has seen a sharp dip in the rankings as it dropped from 155th position in 2023 to 225 this year.

The list has been topped by Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It has been closely followed by Cambridge University, Oxford University, Harvard University and Stanford University.

In the MBA category, Stanford Graduate Business School has topped the ranking, followed by Penn (Wharton), Harvard Business School, London Business School and HEC Paris.
