A delegation of more than 60 educators and policymakers from India visited the United Kingdom in a FICCI-sponsored tour to attend education shows and interact with educators in the UK and gain exposure to the global education standards.

Alliance for Re-Imagining School Education (ARISE), a collegium of school education experts under the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), organised this trip to the UK.

The delegation attended the British Educational Training and Technology (BETT) Show as well as Learnit 2022 in the UK. The team’s visit to the UK also included visits to reputed institutions like the King’s College London and the University of Cambridge.

The delegation included Kanwar Pal, minister of education, Haryana; Mahavir Singh, additional chief secretary, Haryana; Antriksh Johri, director (information technology), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE); Manoj Kumar Srivastava, director (Professional Examinations), CBSE; Shanavas C, principal director (Education), Nagaland, and senior leaders from independent schools.

The FICCI facilitated the visit with the goal of improving the Indian education sector through exposure to global standards.

The delegation’s visit allowed them to participate in the sought-after global education platforms. The members of the delegation were able to connect with a global education community and gain exposure to the latest technology in the education space.

The sessions at the BETT Show and Learnit allowed them to attend B2B and leadership sessions. With the inputs, the delegation received they can work towards enhancing the quality of education in India and reimagine new and more inclusive paradigms for school education.

Shishir Jaipuria, chairman, FICCI ARISE and Seth Anandram Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions, said, “Learners of today are vastly different from those born in the 20th century. Today’s learners are multi-taskers, inventive and disruptors. Educators, therefore, have to adopt ways of learning tailored to the learners of tomorrow. Through mobilising this visit to London, UK, we at FICCI ARISE, are acting as a facilitator to explore global partnerships, improve and enhance the quality and delivery of education and exposure to the latest technologies.”

The vision of FICCI ARISE is to catalyse government and private efforts in improving the quality of learning outcomes in schools so that no child is left behind.
