Bangalore-based upGrad’s technology skilling provider KnowledgeHut has launched a Design Thinking programme in collaboration with the innovation training and consulting firm, TinkerLabs. The target of the programme is to build Design Thinking skills in professionals from various sectors, allowing them to develop new and innovative solutions.

At a time when enterprises operate in volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA) environment, Design Thinking acts as a catalyst for innovation. Ethics plays a key role in decision-making when developing new products as businesses are rapidly getting digitised and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) is on the rise.

Along with complex problems and critical thinking analysis, analytical thinking and innovation will be seen as one of the top 10 skills for professionals in 2025. This has been the prediction of the World Economic Forum. Keeping this in mind, the collaborative programme will assist professionals to come up with solutions using the three key lenses of innovation- desirability, viability and feasibility.

Harnessing the power of diverse perspectives and creativity is a part of the programme. The design thinking boot camp is a short, intensive and immersive learning programme that can be completed in 12-14 hours. It is created to help individual professionals, teams or enterprises fathom and manage abstruse problems, create clear and useful problem statements, offer fresh ideas and know how to prototype and test the innovative solutions.

The programme is built to up-skill C-suite executives to meet the challenges in the strategy and innovation space; mid-level and senior managers looking to enhance and innovate problem-solving and analyst and fresh graduates being placed in reputable companies.

“Design Thinking plays a pivotal role in decision-making and tackling problems that are ambiguous and difficult to define. Our programme offers the combined expertise of upGrad KnowledgeHut along with TinkerLabs, which is one of the best training and consulting firm. This programme will empower the professionals to adopt the methodical approach of human centricity of design with the power of technology and business strategy,” said Subramanyam Reddy, CEO and founder, upGrad KnowledgeHut, on the importance of the Design Thinking programme.
