Faculty mentors at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT)- Mesra, Ranchi, were felicitated by the Samsung PRISM programme for Industrial Research & Student Internship on May 25.

Samsung PRISM (PReparing and Inspiring Student Minds) is a programme that offers students a chance to work on real-world projects, interact with Samsung’s top technical experts and gain hands-on experience in core technology domains.

As part of this programme, students and professors form teams and each team is assigned a work-let, a smaller project or a problem statement of a bigger project being worked upon by engineers at Samsung R&D Institute India-Bangalore (SRI-B). The teams are required to deliver their projects within a specified timeframe and earn exciting benefits.

Samsung PRISM is aimed at stimulating the Indian innovation ecosystem and building capabilities among students to help meet industry needs. The programme is run by SRI-B.

The programme trains faculty members as well as students in early stages of graduation and makes them aware of actual industry-level problems and how to reach solutions.

Vijay Nath, BIT-Mesra coordinator for Samsung PRISM, addressed the audience and described in detail about conduction and coordination with Samsung PRISM and successful programme strategies. He further described the institute’s journey with Samsung PRISM.

All mentors were felicitated with an academic kit sent by Samsung PRISM to appreciate the work outcome.
