The Xavier Society of Law and Justice (XSLAJ) at the Xavier Law School of St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, organised the Xavier Intra-XLS Trial Advocacy Competition (XITAC) in collaboration with Fox&Mandal, one of India's oldest and largest full-service law firms, as well as in partnership with Parnasree Jeewandeep Seva Sansthan.

Over 200 XLS students from semesters 3,5 and 7 participated directly in the three-day event from August 11 to 13 in 2022 as members of Participating Teams, Working Committee Members, and Witnesses. There were 400 additional students present as audience members from all semesters.

On August 11, 2022, 36 teams were matched up against each other in Prelims I of this massive event, with one team playing the role of the Prosecution and the other the Defense across five separate trial rooms.

On the second day of the competition, Prelims II, on August 12, 2022, the roles were reversed, and the teams had to prepare a case representing the other side. The separate Judges of each trial room thoroughly reviewed the analysis of the trial problem, significant facts pertaining to the case, the comprehension of law, and concerns regarding the jurisdictional consequence, nature of the injury, attitude on dowry death and suicide arose.

The exciting and enlightening experience culminated in two teams qualifying for the Final round on August 13th, 2022. Ahona Majumder, a 5th student, and 7th students Aruja Singh and Aditi Kumari made up the winning team, which was announced on Day 3. The final round's esteemed judges were Mr Sakya Sen, an attorney at the Calcutta High Court, and Ms Mahima Cholera, an associate at Fox & Mandal.
