The students of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology have created a new record in the recently concluded Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon 2023. Two teams from the institute secured the winners' positions and won a prize money of Rs 1,00,000 each.
While Team TrackTech Titans won the Smart India Hackathon- 2023 held at PSNA College of Engineering and Technology, Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, Team HexaHustlers was the winner of SIH 2023, held at Sreenidhi Institute of Schience and Technology, Secunderabad.

For Team TrackTech, the problem statement was, "Using existing CCTV network for crowd management, crime prevention, and work monitoring using AIML" given by the Ministry of Railways, Government of India.
The team was comprised of Debojyoti Maity (Team Leader), Arunangshu Garai, Diptimoy Hazra, Mohini Brahma, Ambika Ghosh from the CSE Department and Shreya Mitra from ECE Department. Prof (Dr) Sudip Dogra of the ECE Department was the mentor of the team.
On the other hand, Team HexaHustlers was provided the problem statement, "Developing a system for medical emergencies, search, and rescue operations” by Student Innovation by Government of India. The team comprised of Ayush Chakraborty (Team Leader), Avishek Chakraborty, Arunava Pal, Priyanka Banerjee, Pubali Dey and Shuvam Sen . Mentors included Prof Subhrapratim Nath, Head of Department of CSE and Prof Indrajit Das, Department of IT.

Principal Dr Tirthankar Dutta congratulated the winners for their exeptional achievements.
