An air of inspiration swept through St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata as the campus recently played host to its fest, X-Genesis '23 organised by the Xavier's Management Society aimed at guiding and familiarising first-year students with the world beyond academia. The event was a resounding success, igniting a spark of ambition among the participants.
The fest witnessed the presence of Rev. Dr. Dominic Savio, SJ (Principal), Rev. Dr. Peter Arockiam, SJ (Vice-Principal - Dept. of Management Studies and Dept. Of Commerce (Evening)), Rev. Fr. Joseph Kulandai (Vice-Principal - Dept. Of Commerce (Morning)), Proff. Sougata Banerjee (Dean- Department of Management Studies), Dr. Sukanya Sarkhel (Deputy President - XMS), Dr. Supriyo Patra (Deputy Vice-President - XMS), other faculty members of the B.M.S. Department and students from all departments. The Closing Ceremony started with a felicitation of the hon'ble dignitaries by the Joint Secretaries, Mohit Joshi and Paridhi Jain and the Finance Heads, Raghav Bansal and Mohammad Tauqeer Siddiqui.
It was followed by an enriching speech by the respected Father Principal and Father Vice-Principal. The Speaker Session by Mr. Sanjeev Krishnan (Chairperson, PwC India) was witnessed by 700+ students in attendance at the Fr. Depelchin Auditorium, St. Xavier's College. After three days of brainstorming rounds and Personal Interviews of the Finalists, Akshat Goyal (BMS 1st Year) and Dhruv Jhunjhunwala (BMS 1st Year) were announced winners of X-Genesis '23. The winners were awarded with a gift hamper and cash prize of Rs. 5000 each from XMS, an Internship opportunity at Eduworks and a Course Voucher worth Rs. 15,000 from Collegify .

“To be a leader, one must have a vision and a goal, be dedicated to reaching that objective, and be able to overcome obstacles along the way. It entails leading without having a lot of power, promoting positive and constructive dialogue, and exercising sound judgement even while under a lot of pressure. As a result of this belief, the theme “Mission Impossible” was chosen for X- Genesis '23, with the tagline “Emplify Empower Emerge”. This three- day competition included a number of managerial-focused rounds designed to challenge the participants' creativity and reveal their genuine capabilities.” said Rev. Dr. Dominic Savio, SJ Principal.
Genesis'23 culminated with a networking gala, fostering connections between students and industry stalwarts. It was a testament to the fest's commitment to preparing students for a future where networking and interpersonal skills are indispensable.
