The 11th Convocation of the college was held on 9 December 2023 at the Vivekananda Sabhagriha (the College Auditorium)

With a view to giving shape to Swamiji’s comprehensive scheme of education, the authorities of the Mission started Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, the residential college, in 1941. The college was upgraded to a three-year degree college with effect from July 1960. Postgraduate teaching was introduced from the academic session 2006-2007. To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary, the college established ‘Swami Vivekananda Research Centre’ to run PhD program and other research activities. This center has received the affiliation from Calcutta University.

In the 2015-2016 session, the college received the prestigious ‘DST-FIST Award’ from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

The status of ‘Autonomy’ was renewed and extended for 6 years by the UGC in 2016. In 2019, the college got funding under DBT Star College Scheme for the first time for 3 years. Four Science Departments were brought under the Strengthening Component of DBT.

In 2021, the college was re-accredited by NAAC with Grade A ++, the Highest Grade (with CGPA 3.58) in its 3rd Cycle. In 2022, The status of ‘Autonomy’ was renewed and extended for 10 years by the UGC for A++ Grade in NAAC & for the NIRF Rankings (one of the top 50 Colleges in India). In 2023, the college received DBT Star Status.

The 11th Convocation of the college was held on 9 December 2023 at the Vivekananda Sabhagriha (the College Auditorium). This year Prof. Uday Bandyopadhyay, Director, Bose Institute, delivered the 11th Convocation Address. Prof. Debashis Biswas, Inspector of Colleges, University of Calcutta, presided over the function and conferred degrees to the graduating students. Certificates were given to 180 UG students, 69 PG students with 7 PhD students. Swami Shukadevanaanda, Secretary of the college delivered the inaugural address and Swami Mahaprajnananda, Principal presented the annual report.

The Convocation ceremony was followed by the prize distribution to the graduating as well as the current students who performed extraordinarily in exams.

Monks, faculty members, parents, guardians, alumni, ex-teachers, patrons, Govt. officials were present on this solemn occasion.
