The Department of Physics at Amity University, Kolkata recently organised a National Conference titled “Physics of Nano Devices and Quantum Materials: Harnessing the Power of Small''. The event, held on October 6 and 7, brought together scholars, researchers and students from across India.

The event, inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Sanjay Kumar, witnessed participation from nearly 100 scholars from various institutes across the country who took part in oral and poster presentations.

In his inaugural address, Dr Kumar talked about the significance of nanodevices and their potential to bring about revolutionary and transformational changes in the field of Medicine, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering and Technology.

Several distinguished guests, including Prof Kalyan Kumar Chattopadhyay of Jadavpur University, attended the event and shared their expertise in nanoscience and its diverse applications.

Discussions at the technical sessions were held on various topics including electronic, magnetic, and optical properties of nanoscale systems, among others.

Apart from this, several other sessions on advanced technologies like 3D printing, e-skin and nanofiber-based sensors were also organised, providing a platform for participants to showcase their talent.

Young scientists from across the country explored diverse subjects at the conference with a series of lectures on topics ranging from photoacoustic imaging to potential supercapacitor electrodes.

Several esteemed professors, researchers and students attended the conference, all of them united by their passion for condensed matter physics and interdisciplinary research.
