“My experience in Calcutta has always been wonderful. Here people have a very distinct sense of style. Nowadays it is no longer just about the solitaires or diamonds; people have started looking for making a statement in the jewellery they wear and the exposure it gives them. Versatility is greatly prioritised nowadays and style is the key in today’s market. I would say that Varuna D Jani as a brand stands for jewellery that is made to stand out and not fit in. My designs help to express one’s individuality. I have tried to create a range of more contemporary jewellery with bold designs that can be worn both with Western and traditional outfits,” said Varuna D Jani.

This line of diamond jewellery designed by Varuna mostly consisted of statement pieces that are headturners for any wedding, party or festive occasions. Varuna suggested that these pieces are for brides to wear on their cocktail and reception nights as the spotlight is on them on such days. The range includes stone-studded neckpieces, earrings, bracelets and rings in contemporary designs. Varuna explained how the modern bride is not just looking for jewellery anymore, she is also attempting to establish her individuality along with it.

VARUNA D JANI DAILYWEAR:

The dailywear range designed by Varuna spelt out minimalistic elegance. This range consisted of pieces that a woman might want to wear to the office or for a sudden brunch plan. “These are more of enhancers and induce the joy of adorning regular looks,” said Varuna. Smart and chic, these pieces are perfect for pairing with formals or monochromes.

THE YEPREM CORNER:

Some exquisite pieces from the house of Yeprem, the avant-garde jewellery brand from Lebanon, were also on display. Their ear cuffs and handcuffs are their signatures. Varuna shared that in today’s times, both brides and guests attending the occasion want to be more edgy in their choice of jewellery and dressing. Yeprem serves exactly that vision by being the innovators and risk-takers when it comes to fine jewellery, explained Varuna.
