Green tea is the good drink. It has everything: it is high on antioxidants, vitamins, enzymes, amino acids. But it also has an impressive range of use as a skin and beauty product.

Green tea is particularly good for hair. It is rich in catechins, which help to reduce dihydrotestosterone (DTH), responsible for hair loss.

As a result, green tea stops hair fall. It helps to fight dryness of the scalp and dandruff.

Green tea abounds in essential compounds. Polyphenol, found in green tea, is good for hair roots and hair follicles, which leads to hair regrowth.

A few ways of using green tea for hair:

• Drink two to three cups of green tea a day.

• Use it as a mask. Several masks with green tea can be used for the hair. Mix 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 egg yolk and 2 tbsp green tea. The mix should be thick enough to apply to hair. Leave on for half an hour. Rinse thoroughly and shampoo. You can also mix 1 tbsp coconut/olive oil, half a lemon and 2 tbsp green tea. Follow the same procedures as above.

• Green tea can be used as a rinse. After a hair wash, use fresh but cooled green tea to rinse your hair. Keep it on for 15 minutes or so. Then rinse thoroughly again with cool water.
