DART MEET: CC&FC retained their 4th Inter Club Darts Tournament crown. The Saturday Club won the Gold Cup runner-up trophy. The Silver Cup went to Tollygunge Club and the runner-up trophy to Dalhousie Institute. The Most Valuable Player Awards went to Jacqueline Khanna and Aryaveer Chokhani. Hindusthan Club won The Fairplay Trophy. There were 11 teams fielded by the city clubs for this two-week-long tournament. This was CC&FC’s third win in four years. “Darts has become extremely popular in all social clubs of Calcutta. Various clubs hold inter-club tournaments on a regular basis. Our club teams have been doing extremely well over the years and I congratulate the darts section for their continued success,” said Deepankar Nandi, CC&FC president.

He played in an era when Test match cricket attracted a full house at the Eden Gardens and other venues and everyone was a fan of his,” said Nandi.
