This book by Neel Sinha is heart-warming. It charts the rise of a club from Mizoram, which scripted a fairytale by winning its maiden I-League title last year. The journey to the top was not easy — Aizawl FC got a chance to play in the tournament by a sheer stroke of luck. The coach, Khalid Jamil, who was sacked by his previous club, and the Aizawl boys had little time to prepare. Also, the club lacked the financial wherewithal to sign up big names. However, the determination, passion and grit of the management, coaching staff, players and fans of Aizawl FC saw the club make history.
Goals of Glory will inspire confidence in one and all. Even those from non-sporting backgrounds would feel enthused to excel in their respective fields, whatever might be the odds.
