Mumbai, March 19 :    Mumbai, March 19:  Zee Television has dismissed three senior officials on charges of financial irregularities. A Zee TV spokesperson said the dismissals were part of the television company?s ?corporate rejuvenation programme?? and made with a view to ?institute purity?? within the organisation. She said the company had discovered in recent months many instances of financial irregularities. The three dismissed were Vishnu Patel, vice-president (programming); Ajit Gupta, general manager (commercial); and Rajesh Mishra, general manager (legal). These men, the spokesperson said, were ?deviating from the basic principles of transparency, honesty and integrity??. The officials were also said to be guilty of corruption in selecting programmes. The spokesperson said Mithali Thadani, general manager (events), had resigned on Tuesday and not sacked as reported. Gopal Maliwal, head of corporate finance, too has resigned, but would be working for the Essel Group on assignment basis, the spokesperson said. Though the company did not divulge the exact charges against the trio, officials said the allegations against them were ?grave??. Speculation is rife in the city that the sacking of these officials was due to detection of some irregularities in the presentation of the Zee Cine awards held in Mumbai on Sunday. Zee officials, however, did not comment on this aspect.
