Mahindra & Mahindra reports 34 per cent increase in profit for October-December quarter

The auto major had reported a profit after tax of Rs 1,984 crore a year ago

Mahindra & Mahindra on Wednesday reported a 34 per cent increase in consolidated profit after tax at Rs 2,658 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, driven by robust sales across verticals. The auto major had reported a profit after tax of Rs 1,984 crore a year ago. Revenue increased 15 per cent to Rs 35,299 crore compared with Rs 30,621 crore in the year-ago period. “Our businesses have delivered a solid operating performance this quarter. Auto continues to gain market share and grew rapidly to double its profit. Farm has gained market share despite tough market conditions,” said Anish Shah, group chief executive officer and managing director, Mahindra Group.

Senco Gold PAT up

Jewellery retailer Senco Gold has reported a 5.8 per cent growth in consolidated profit after tax at Rs 109.32 crore for the quarter ended December 31. The company’s profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs 103.35 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. The company’s revenue from operations grew by 23.3 per cent during the quarter under review at Rs 1,652.20 crore, compared with Rs 1,339.63 crore in the same period of the previous year.

Wockhardt loss

Pharmaceuticals firm Wockhardt on Wednesday reported the narrowing of consolidated net loss at Rs 86 crore for the third quarter ended December 31. The company had incurred a loss of Rs 102 crore in the third quarter of 2022, Wockhardt said. Revenue from operations during the quarter under review stood at Rs 701 crore compared with Rs 699 crore in the year-ago period, the company said. Total expenses were lower at Rs 796 crore against Rs 803 crore a year ago.
