Bajaj Auto reports 38 per cent jump in profit after tax for October-December quarter

Consolidated total revenue from operations in the third quarter stood at Rs 12,165.33 crore, up from Rs 9,318.54 crore in the year-ago period

Bajaj Auto on Wednesday reported a 38 per cent jump in consolidated profit after tax at Rs 2,032.62 crore in the December quarter.

The company had posted a consolidated PAT of Rs 1,472.7 crore in the year-ago period.

Consolidated total revenue from operations in the third quarter stood at Rs 12,165.33 crore, up from Rs 9,318.54 crore in the year-ago period.

Total expenses were higher at Rs 9,855.44 crore against Rs 7,644.55 crore in the same period a year ago.

Uco Bank profit falls

Uco Bank on Wednesday reported a net profit of Rs 503 crore for the quarter ended December 31, reflecting a 23 per cent decline from Rs 653 crore in the corresponding previous quarter on the back of higher provisions for wage revision.

On a sequential basis, the bank, however, has seen a 25 per cent rise in net profit during Q3FY24 from Rs 402 crore during Q2FY24.

Net interest income during the quarter was Rs 1,988 crore, up 1.84 per cent from Rs 1,952 crore a year ago.

Exide net rises 7.62%

Exide Industries on Wednesday reported a net profit of Rs 240 crore for Q3FY24 against Rs 223 core in Q3FY23, growth of 7.62 per cent.

The company’s revenue from operations in the quarter under review stood at
Rs 3,841 crore, which was up 12.57 per cent year-on-year from Rs 3,412 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.

Subir Chakraborty, MD & CEO, said the demand was positive in both the automotive and industrial divisions and the company achieved a healthy growth in its key end-customer markets.
