Adani Total Gas, Torrent Gas cut gas price

Reduction in PNG prices for industrial and commercial consumers by Rs 3 per scm, has also been introduced

In a respite to lakhs of domestic gas and CNG vehicle owners, Adani Total Gas and TorrentGas reduced CNG and PNG prices following the Centre’sdecision to revise the domestic natural gas pricing guidelines.

Adani Total reduced CNG and PNG prices to up to Rs 8.13 per kg and Rs 5.06 per scm (standard cubic metre), respectively.

It also announced a reduction in PNG prices for industrial and commercial consumers by Rs 3 per scm, ATGL said in a statement.

Similarly, Torrent Gas, which provides CNG and PNG in 34 districts across the country, announced a reduction between Rs 4-5 per scm in the price of domestic PNG and between Rs 6-8.25 per kg in the retail price of CNG effective from Saturday evening, it said in a statement.

“Adani Total Gas Ltd (ATGL) welcomes the Government of India’s landmark decision to link the APM (Administered Price Mechanism) price for gas supply to CNG vehicles and residential households to 10 per cent of the Indian crude basket with a floor of $4 and a cap of $6.5 per million British thermal units,” the statement said.

“In line with our policyto prioritise our end consumers, ATGL has decided topass through the benefit ofthe New Gas Pricing guidelines to our large numbers of Home PNG and CNG consumers,” the ATGL said.

“The GoI’s decision to revise the domestic naturalgas pricing guidelines andthe consequent reduction in PNG and CNG prices will bring significant respite to millions of households and CNG vehicle owners,” Torrent Gas said.

In a statement, AdaniTotal said that for pipedcooking gas, called PNG, rates have been reduced in Vadodara, Ahmedabad and other cities of Gujarat where it operates.

PNG prices have also been cut in Khurja in Uttar Pradesh and Faridabad and Palwal in Haryana.

CNG prices have been reduced across 21 cities where it operates. These range from Vadodara in Gujarat to Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu, Udaipur in Rajasthan and Bhind in Madhya Pradesh.
